I received a mail from one of my school friends stating that my favorite teacher had passed away. I could not take the news as she was my dearest. With burdened heart I closed my eyes for a moment, my school memories flashed at once. I remembered the day when I first joined the school. Naughty, least bothered about studies, a bully, that was how I used to be. But when I lost both my parents in an air crash something inside me changed completely. I was totally devastated and refused to mingle with anyone.
It was during this time that my teacher took me under her wings and totally nurtured me. She treated me as her own child and poured her love and kindness to the fullest from her heart. Not only did she help transform into a responsible individual but also helped me regain my confidence. Even after schooling when I left her for pursuing my higher studies, I made it a point to visit her at least once a year without fail. But, this year I couldn’t go because of my project work, and when I heard about her death it came as a real shock to me.
